3. Rule type
3.1 Bid day parting
3.1.1 Function Overview
The bid day parting template allows you to set bid adjustment rules on an hourly basis, covering all 24 hours of the week. You can apply this template to each campaign, and Xnurta will execute your bid adjustments at the beginning of each hour.
3.1.2 Usage Conditions
Applicable Campaign Types: apply to all types of SP, SB, and SD ad campaigns.
Open Sites: No site restrictions.
Functionality Exclusions: Cannot be used simultaneously with AI Copilot and Rank Lock.
Association limit: For each profile, the default limit for associating ad campaigns with automation rules is 300.
3.1.3 Usage Scenarios
With the bid day parting feature, you can control bid adjustments at the hourly level to avoid inefficient spending.
3.1.4 How to Use
Create a bid day parting template: [Rule-based Automation] - [Add new template] - [Bid day parting] to access the settings page.
Enter the template name.
Set Time-Based Bids: Divide each day of the week into 24 hours and choose any time period to set bid adjustment coefficients. The coefficient will increase the bid based on the original bid, serving as the actual bid. For example, if the original bid is $5.00 and the coefficient is 2.00, the actual bid will be $10.00.
You can drag the mouse to select a continuous hour range and bulk set the corresponding bid adjustment coefficients for each hour. For example, if you select the hour range from 4:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday, the system will display a pop-up window for "Modify Bid Adjustment Coefficient". Enter the bid adjustment coefficient, click "Confirm", and the bid adjustment coefficient for the hour range from 4:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday will be successfully modified to 2.20
Save the Template: Click [Save] to complete the creation of the time-based bid adjustment template.
Associate Campaigns: Find the corresponding rule in the automation rule list, click [Associate Campaigns], search or filter the ad campaigns you want to associate, and confirm.
If you remove campaign that has already been associated, the following pop-up window will appear. Choose "Do Not Reset", and the bid adjustments for all targeting in the corresponding campaign will continue to operate at the current values. If you choose "Reset", the bid adjustments for all targeting in the corresponding campaign will be reset to the initial bid adjustments before automation.
Note:
After enabling time-based bid adjustments, the system will use Xnurta' bid as the baseline to ensure the stable operation of the automation system.
Bid adjustments made on Amazon backend or other platforms will be overridden by the automation rules.
3.2 Budget day parting
3.2.1 Overview
The budget day parting template allows you to set daily budgets with granularity of 7 days * 24 hours. You can apply this template to each of your associated campaigns, and Xnurta will execute your set daily budgets starting from each hour. This feature enables you to allocate budgets effectively on an hourly basis, achieving fine-tuned operations.
3.2.2 Usage Conditions
Supported Campaign Types: Only supported for SP and SB
Site Restrictions: No site restrictions apply.
Functionality Exclusions: Cannot be used simultaneously with AI Copilot.
Association limit: For each profile, the default limit for associating ad campaigns with automation rules is 300.
3.2.3 Usage Scenarios
By using budget day parting, you can allocate daily budgets at an hourly level, enhancing operational precision.
3.2.4 How to Use
Access Settings Page: Navigate to "Advanced reporting" > "Rule-based Automation" to create a new template.
Enter Template Name.
Set up a time-partitioned budget. It supports three setting methods based on users' diverse preferences and habits: "Calendar Mode," "Daily," and "Weekly." Taking "Calendar Mode" as an example,The time is divided into 24 hours for each day of the week. Click on any hour of any day to freely adjust its budget. Setting will adjust the daily budget for the current hour based on the rule. The benchmark values calculated based on the daily budget are all derived from the current daily budgets of campaigns in the Xnurta.
Example: If your ad campaign's daily budget is $100,
Set Fixed Budget: Input $20 to adjust the hourly budget to $20.
Decrease Based on Original Budget (Percentage): Input 20%, which adjusts the hourly budget to $100 * (1-20%) = $80.
Increase Based on Original Budget (Percentage): Input 20%, which adjusts the hourly budget to $100 * (1+20%) = $120.
Decrease Based on Original Budget (Value): Input $20 to adjust the hourly budget to $100 - $20 = $80.
Increase Based on Original Budget (Value): Input $20 to adjust the hourly budget to $100 + $20 = $120.
During operation, you can drag the mouse to select a continuous hour range to quickly adjust the budget. For example, if you select Monday to Sunday from 00:00 to 2:00, the system will show an "Edit Budget" popup. Choose the "Budget Adjustment Rule," input the adjustment value (e.g. select "Set Fixed Budget," input $20), and click "OK." This action will successfully adjust the daily budget for Monday to Sunday from 00:00 to 2:00 to $20, and only the budget for the specified time period will be changed, while other time periods will automatically revert to the daily budget manually set for the campaign.
If the daily budget is modified in the Xnurta campaign management during this period, at each full hour following the change, the automation process will use the latest daily budget as the basis. However, if the daily budget is altered in the Amazon backend or other third-party platforms during this time, Xnurta will not synchronize these changes, and the automation process will continue to use the currently set daily budget in the Xnurta as the reference.
Taking "Daily" as an example, it supports setting individual budget changes at specific time points. For instance, in the "Per Day" mode, you can configure the budget to be reduced by 90% at 0:00 (midnight) every day.
For time periods that are not specifically set, Xnurta will automatically revert to the current daily budget set for the campaign.
Taking the settings shown in the diagram as an example, if the current daily budget set for the associated campaign is $10.00 at 0:00 AM on the current day. Starting from 1:00 AM and at each subsequent full hour, the budget will be changed back to $ 10.00 at 0:00 AM the next day. During this period, if the daily budget is modified in the Xnurta campaign management, the automation process will use the latest daily budget as the basis at each full hour following the change. However, if the daily budget is altered in the Amazon backend or other third-party platforms during this time, Xnurta will not synchronize these changes, and the automation process will continue to use the currently set daily budget in the Xnurta as the reference.
Taking "weekly" as an example, it supports changing the budget at a specific time point on a certain day of the week. For instance, in the "weekly" mode, you can set the budget to increase by 50% at 7:00 PM every Saturday.
For time periods that are not specifically set, Xnurta will automatically revert to the current daily budget set for the campaign.
Using the settings shown in the diagram as an example, if the current daily budget set for the associated advertising campaign is $
190.00 at 7:00 PM on Saturday. At 8:00 PM on Saturday, the budget will be adjusted to $ 100.00, until it is again increased to $190.00 at 7:00 PM the following Saturday.
Save the Template: Click "Save" to complete the creation of the template.
Associate Campaigns: Go to the automation rules list page, find the corresponding rule, click the "Associate Campaigns" icon, search or filter campaigns based on conditions, select them, and then click "Confirm" to complete the association. Once associated and submitted, the associated campaigns will automatically enable the current automation rule type.
3.3 Activate/pause campaigns
3.3.1 Overview
The "Activate/pause Campaign" template allows you to set automatic activation times and dates for campaigns, as well as conditions and condition groups for pausing campaigns. You can apply this to your relevant campaigns, and Xnurta will automatically execute the activation or pause actions, saving your operational costs.
3.3.2 Usage Conditions
Supported Campaign Types: All types(SP, SB, SD)
Site Restrictions: No site restrictions apply.
Functionality Exclusions: This feature cannot be used simultaneously with AI Copilot.
Association limit: For each profile, the default limit for associating ad campaigns with automation rules is 300.
3.3.3 Usage Scenarios
By using the Enable/Disable Campaign, you can schedule the activation and pausing of campaigns at specified times and conditions, avoiding ineffective spending.
3.3.4 How to Use
Create Activate/Pause Campaign Template: Click on "Rule-based automation" > "Add new Template" > "Activate/Pause Campaign."
Enter Template Name.
Set Start Time: If you check "Start," you can set the date and time for automatic activation of the campaign. If you only check "Start," frequency settings will not apply, and the campaign will automatically start at the set time.
Set Pause Conditions: If you check "Pause," you can set the conditions and condition groups for pausing the campaign, including:
Data Period: Choose from the past 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days (excluding today). You can choose to exclude data from the most recent 14 days, 7 days, 3 days, 2 days, or yesterday (to avoid data deviation due to attribution). For example, if the current date is November 23, 2022, and you select "Past 7 days" and exclude "Most recent 3 days," the value date will be from November 16, 2022, to November 19, 2022.
Condition Groups: Condition groups are collections of multiple conditions, and different condition groups have an "OR" relationship. Each condition group can have up to 10 conditions, and each rule can have up to 10 condition groups.
Conditions: Choose metrics such as impressions, clicks, spend, click-through rate, cost per click, etc. Xnurta provides logical symbols like ≤, , and you can add different conditions as needed. Conditions within a group have an "AND" relationship.
Set Frequency: When selecting corresponding Sundays, the system will perform daily scheduled tasks at around 3 AM local time of the store on those Sundays to evaluate whether the campaigns associated with the Activate/Pause Campaign template meet the pause conditions. If they meet the conditions, they will be automatically paused. However, if the associated time is later than the scheduled task time on the current day, the task will not run for that Sunday and will run in the next cycle. Therefore, checking frequency is necessary for the system to execute condition evaluation tasks.
Click "Save" to complete the template creation.
Associate Campaigns: Go to the automation rules list page, find the corresponding rule, click the "Associate Campaigns" icon, search or filter ad campaigns based on conditions, select them, and then click "Confirm" to complete the association.

Inventory for a product is determined by its current shipping method (provided by SP-API). FBA: Inventory = Fulfillable Inventory + Reserved Inventory. FBM: Inventory = Fulfilled by merchant Inventory |
Total sellable inventory of all products under the parent ASIN |
The total inventory of all ASINs under the parent ASIN.
|
Product Available Days
|
Based on sales from the past 7/ 14/ 30/ 60/ 90 days, product sellable days are calculated based on sales over a specified historical period. Example: |
2. Set Execution Strategy
For products meeting the set conditions, the 'Pause Promoted Product' action will be executed. Optionally, enable 'Pause All Variants': When a product meets the pausing condition, all variants under the same parent ASIN will also be paused.
Enable 'Automatically Resume Promoted Product': When a product no longer meets the conditions for pausing, it will automatically resume. Optionally, enable 'Resume All Variants': When the product no longer meets the pausing condition and the promotion is resumed, all variants under the same parent ASIN will also be resumed.

4. Associate Products
-
Select the products (at the SKU level) that need to be executed.
-
Maximum of 200 products per template.
-
By default, Xnurta automatically matches the ad campaign range to include all ad groups that the promoted products currently belong to.
-
If manually exclude specific ad campaigns, each execution will automatically match the ad group range, excluding the specified ad groups under the selected ad campaign.
-
3.8 Budget rules
Function Introduction
Typical Scenarios
-
Use the scheduled budget modification function to set a lower initial budget during the early morning hours of the day and a higher initial budget during peak hours
-
During the peak period, the budget strategy based on the real-time performance of the day is superimposed. When the budget utilization rate is high and the campaign performance is good, the budget can be supplemented in time; for the advertising activities with a relatively generous initial budget, if the campaign performance is not good on the same day, the maximum budget will be reduced in time
Scope of Support
-
It is applicable to all types of stores, including sellers and vendors
-
Applicable all campaign types
Quantity Limit
-
Each store can be associated with a maximum of 300 advertising campaigns of the "Budget Rule" rule type by default
Functional Limitations
-
It cannot be enabled at the same time as the "Budget Dayparting" rule in the automation rule
-
Cannot be enabled at the same time as the "Lock Ranking" function
-
Only one budget rule can be associated with the same campaign
-
Cannot be enabled at the same time as AI hosting
Functional Distinction
-
The difference between the timing change budget strategy in the "Budget Rules" and the "Budget Dayparting" rule is illustrated by an example; assuming that the campaign is within Xnurta, the daily budget is set to $10, and the final budget execution results in different rules are as follows
Rule Type
|
Strategy Settings
|
Execution results
|
Features
|
Budget Rules
|
Customize the timing strategy and set it as follows
Set the campaign daily budget to $1 at 0:00 every day
Set the campaign daily budget to $10 at 2:00 every day
At 4:00 every day, increase by 30% based on the campaign daily budget
|
Daily 0:00 budget: $1
Daily Budget: $1
Daily 2 o'clock budget: $10
Daily 3 o'clock budget: $10
Daily 4:00 Budget: $13
Budget from 5:00 to 23:00 every day: $13
|
At the time point when the strategy is not set, the budget value of the nearest setting time point shall be used, and it will not be restored to the current daily budget of the campaign
|
Budget Dayparting
|
Set the campaign daily budget to $1 at 0:00 every day
Set the campaign daily budget to $10 at 2:00 every day
At 4:00 every day, increase by 30% based on the campaign daily budget
|
Daily 0:00 budget: $1
Daily Budget at 1:00: $10
Daily 2 o'clock budget: $10
Daily 3 o'clock budget: $10
Daily 4:00 Budget: $13
Budget from 5:00 to 23:00 every day: $10
|
At the time point when the strategy is not set, it will be restored to the current daily budget of the campaign
|
-
Conclusion
-
For campaigns that have the same initial budget requirements during multiple consecutive periods (such as peak/off - peak periods) of a day and wish to gradually increase/decrease the initial budget by stage, it is recommended to use the "Budget Rules".
-
For campaigns where budget adjustments are only made for certain time periods (such as an hour) and the daily budget is used for other time periods, it is recommended to use the "Budget Dayparting".
-
How to use
1. Create Rule Template
2. Click New Template and select Budget Rules

Do not set a timing strategy. Apply the daily budget value currently set for the campaign throughout the day as the benchmark budget; the strategy for changing the budget based on performance will be calculated and executed based on the daily budget value currently set for the campaign
Customize the timing strategy, and set the budget to the specified value at x o'clock every day
Optional time period, every hour on the hour, there are 0-23 points to choose from, up to 24 strategies can be added at the same time Optional execution operations: increase the budget based on the campaign daily budget, reduce the budget based on the campaign daily budget, and set the campaign daily budget You can set the maximum and minimum budget values for the execution of the budget strategy. The upper and lower limits of the budget only apply to this strategy type.

5. Strategy setting based on real-time data of the day
Add Strategy: Strategies can be set based on conditions and condition groups. The types of strategies to be added include [Increase budget based on campaign daily budget], [Decrease budget based on campaign daily budget], and [Set campaign daily budget]. The maximum number of strategies that can be set in the same template is 10. Quick operations for strategies: For each rule, you can create a new strategy of the same type, copy the current strategy, delete the current strategy, or collapse the strategy settings. Policy Sorting: Customize the priority of rules. When multiple rules are set, if an object hits multiple rules, the system will only execute the rule with the highest priority. Drag to customize the sorting. From high to low is the priority of the rule execution order. Data Cycle: Activity Day Condition group: A condition group is a collection of multiple conditions. Different condition groups are in an [OR] relationship, while multiple conditions within the same condition group are in an [AND] relationship. Each condition group can have a maximum of 10 conditions, and each rule can have a maximum of 10 condition groups. Conditions:
You can choose conventional indicators such as exposure, clicks, cost, click through rate, cost per click, etc. Xnurta provides logical symbols such as ≤, <, =, ≥, > Provide a special condition for this rule, the budget utilization rate. The budget utilization rate = cost / daily budget. The daily budget is the latest value at each execution, and the cost is the data of the day. The logical symbol ≥ can be selected
Set the strategy for the scheduled budget change . The execution frequency is fixed at "daily" and cannot be changed;Set the strategy based on the real - time data of the day . The user can add multiple time periods to be executed. The system will detect once every 30 minutes at the start time of the time period selected by the user, and change the daily budget of the advertising campaign according to the execution operation ;
In the strategy based on the real-time data of the day, the user can callback the budget to the specified value after the end of the day. If the budget change to be executed at 0:00 has been set in the timing change strategy, the callback cannot be set in the execution frequency setting of the strategy based on the real-time data of the day;

4. Template list operations
Select a rule type to create a new rule.
For existing rules, perform operations such as enabling, disabling, editing, duplicating, and deleting.
Enabling/Disabling Rules: The execution status of automation rules for all campaigns currently bound to a rule template will follow the status changes of the rule template.
The targeting rule template for SD ad types does not support enabling or disabling operations. To turn off the automation rules, please remove the associated campaigns.
Perform batch enabling or disabling operations for multiple rules.
The number of templates subjected to batch operations simultaneously must be fewer than 25 (this total applies to all templates regardless of rule type).
The total number of campaigns associated with the templates being operated on simultaneously must not exceed 500 (this refers to the aggregate count of campaigns linked to templates where the associated objects are campaigns).
The targeting rule template for SD ad types does not support batch operations.
Support searching for rule template names and filtering by rule type, rule status, and the advertising portfolio to which the associated campaigns belong.
5. Log
You can view the operational logs for your campaign at the ad campaign page level. Select "Automation" under "Object Type" to access all the execution logs for automation under this campaign.
6. Hourly data reference
We provide historical time-based data for your campaign over a certain period for your reference. Based on this data, you can set up two types of rules: 'Bid day parting' and 'Budget day parting.' You can choose any metric to view a heatmap and select three metrics to view a line chart. Additionally, Xnurta supports enabling the 'Use Recommended Configuration' feature. This means the system will calculate recommended bids for each hour based on recent sales data and performance, including today's data. By toggling the switch, you can use the recommended configuration, which will automatically fill in the recommended values in the rule settings above.
Time-based data is displayed specifically for individual campaigns, so the reference to time-based data is only available on the details page of each campaign.
You can save the automated rules used to start ad campaigns as templates and apply them to the current campaign
7. FAQ
What happens when I delete an automation rule template?
When you delete an automation rule template, all campaigns will be disassociated from the current template, and the switch for this automation rule will be turned off. For bid dayparting when deleting, you'll be prompted to choose whether to reset the bids to the values before the automation rule was applied or to continue running with the current values. For budget dayparting, they will run based on the daily budget values set for the campaigns within Xnurta.
If I change the daily budget of the campaign in the Xnurta backend while having an active time-based budget, how does the daily budget of the ad campaign adjust?
In this case, when the budget dayparting for the most recent hour is executed in Xnurta, it will use the current daily budget set for the campaign within Xnurta as the original budget and then carry out the adjustment according to the rule settings.
If I change the daily budget of the campaign in the Amazon backend while having an active time-based budget, how does the daily budget of the campaign adjust?
After applying budget dayparting, if you need to manually adjust the budget, you can only do so in Xnurta. Any budget adjustment operations performed in the Amazon backend or other third-party systems will be overwritten by the automation execution result of the current time period in Xnurta.
If I have an ad campaign running a time-based budget and choose to disable the budget day parting, what value will the daily budget of the campaign continue to run with?
When you turn off the budget dayparting, the daily budget set for the campaign will be restored, and it will remain unchanged in the absence of further manual operations.
How do the budget dayparting and the targeting rule operate when both are enabled simultaneously?
-
The targeting rule adjusts the bid for targeting based on its performance. If maximum/minimum values are set, the adjusted bid will be subject to these upper and lower limits. The increased bid will not exceed the maximum value, and the decreased bid will not fall below the minimum value. The targeting rule is executed once a day at 3 a.m. in the store's local time.
-
Bid dayparting calculates the current hour's bid by multiplying the customer-set base bid by a coefficient for each hour. The final bid is subject to Amazon's official bid upper and lower limits. For example, in the US, the bid range for SP ad campaigns is 1000, and customers are not allowed to set custom upper and lower limits for bids.
-
When both rules are enabled simultaneously, the targeting rule takes precedence. That is, at 3 a.m. in the store's local time, only the base bid is modified according to the strategy result of the targeting rule. The bid dayparting is skipped at 3 a.m. and resumes execution at 4 a.m. At 4 a.m., the adjustment is carried out based on the base bid modified by the targeting rule at 3 a.m. and according to the rule settings.
Here's an example: Suppose the targeting rule meets the strategy conditions and requires a 20% increase in the bid, with a maximum bid set at
The bid changes for the targeting between 2 - 4 a.m. are as follows:
At 2 a.m., it is adjusted by the bid dayparting to 4.50 by the coefficient of 0.01, rounded to two decimal places).
At 3 a.m., it is adjusted by the targeting rule to ).
At 4 a.m., it is adjusted by the time-based bid adjustment to 5 by the coefficient of 0.01).
I want to automate settings for similar targets, but there are too many, and I don't want to select them one by one. Is there a quick way to do this?
There are the following methods supported when editing rules and customizing conditions:
Define effective targets based on matching methods, with the ability to select multiple matching methods. After selecting and associating ad campaigns (either selected campaigns, ad groups, or targeting), the rule will only apply to the associated range and matching methods.
Define effective targets based on keyword content (applicable only to keyword targeting). You can enter multiple keywords. After saving and associating campaigns (either selected ad campaigns, ad groups, or targeting), the rule will only apply to keywords that exactly match the entered content. For example, if your ad campaign targeting includes "Christmas," "Christmas Tree," and "Xmas," and you set the keyword in the conditions as "Christmas," then it will only apply to "Christmas," and "Christmas Tree" and "Xmas" will not be affected.

Turning off the template switch only pauses the automated execution and does not remove the campaigns already associated with the template from the list. To remove campaigns, you still need to manually operate by entering the list of campaigns associated with the template.
When will the budget and bidding be restored after turning off the automation rule switch?
After turning off the automation rules, the rule types that will reset the budget include "Budget rules" and "Budget dayparting " while the rule type that will reset the bidding is "Bid dayparting" You can turn off the automation rule switch in the following ways. The budget and bidding will be reset when the automation rule is turned off, and subsequent automation will not be executed.

Can I pause the automation execution for only some campaigns associated with the same template?
Yes, if you need to turn off the automation rules for specific campaigns, you need to select the corresponding campaigns in campaign management and perform a batch removal operation. However, please note that these campaigns will subsequently be unbound from the template. To re-enable automation, you need to bind them to the automation rules again.
