Overview of Walmart Rule-based Automation

Xnurta Walmart Rule-based Automation combine the capabilities of the Walmart platform with Xnurta’ experience in developing Amazon Rule-based Automation. This revamped design aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of your advertising campaigns through automation tools. Currently supported automation types include:

  • Budget dayparting

  • Bid dayparting

  • Bid adjustment

Additional rule types will be added in the future.

1. Overview of Automation Rules

1.1 Bid dayparting

  • Function: Automatically adjusts bid multiplier 24/7 with minimal operation and flexibility.

  • Example: During high-traffic periods, such as from 9 AM to 11 AM, bids are automatically increased to gain more exposure. During low-traffic periods, such as midnight to 6 AM, bids are lowered to reduce advertising costs.

  • Note: As Walmart does not provide hourly data reports, the setup of Bid dayparting strategies relies on your operational experience.

1.2 Budget dayparting

  • Function: Xnurta allows you to allocate the daily budget of an ad campaign across different times of the day, as well as set different daily budgets for each day of the week. Based on your strategy, the system dynamically adjusts the daily budget value for Associated campaigns every hour.

  • Example: Allocate more budget during peak times and less budget during off-peak times according to your strategy.

  • Note: Walmart's platform has a high minimum daily budget threshold ($10 for 3P stores and $50 for 1P stores). Xnurta cannot allocate budgets below these thresholds for the first time slot of each day. It is recommended to combine Budget dayparting and Bid dayparting to manage costs effectively.

1.3 Bid adjustment

  • Function: Automatically adjusts bids based on the performance of targets or items (SP automatic).

  • Recurring: Supports one-time, daily, weekly (select specific days), and monthly (select specific dates) schedules.

  • Note: Multiple strategies can be set in bulk and applied in parallel based on priority.

2. General Usage Process

2.1 Creating a Rule

  1. Create a new rule and select the rule type.

2.2 Configuring Rule Content

  • After configuration, return to the automation rules list page.

  • Select the far-right operation item to return to edit the rule if needed.

2.3 Associating and Applying Ad Campaigns

  1. Associate Ad Campaigns: Enter the drawer interface and select the ad campaigns you want to link. Once associated, these ad campaigns will automatically apply the rule from the next time slot.

  2. Rule Application Switch: During promotional periods or specific operational nodes, you may need to turn off automation for certain ad campaigns and then turn them back on as needed. You can do this without repeatedly associating or disassociating campaigns; simply access the application interface and toggle the switch. (Automation tasks will only execute when the switch is turned on.)

3. Execution of Automation Rules

  • For Dayparting Rules, maintain your base bids, daily budgets, and total budgets only in Xnurta. (Values in Walmart's backend or third-party platforms will be continuously overwritten.)

  • Execution Frequency:

    •  Dayparting Rules: Execute every hour.

    • Bid adjustment Rules: Execute based on your settings, with the smallest unit being daily. System tasks begin at the top of the hour, but actual execution might occur slightly later.

  • All submitted changes  to Dayparting Rules will take effect at the start of the next hour and apply to subsequent cycles.

  • Adjustments made by automation rules to your budgets and bids cannot exceed business limits. The system will use upper or lower limit values as necessary.

4. Compatibility of Automation Rules

  • Different types of automation rules can be enabled simultaneously. For example, a single ad campaign can apply Budget dayparting, Bid dayparting, and Bid adjustment rules at one time

  • However, only one rule of the same type can be associated with each ad campaign. For instance, a single ad campaign cannot be linked to two different Bid dayparting rules. You will see a prompt in the association interface.

5. Compatibility with AI

Xnurta has partially achieved compatibility with AI and automation rules.

Currently, only bid dayparting and budget dayparting rules are compatible with AI cCopilot. We also recommend enabling both for complementary effects. Bid adjustment rules have not yet been supported.

6. Viewing Running Automation Ads

  • Ad Management: Supports filtering by the type of automation rule applied.

  • Click the spinning icon to navigate to the automation rules list and display the filtered results.
